how to study xml
Another thing important is learning XML related technologies in English, please! Don't even try to translate them into Chinese unless absolute necessary. Why?
1. XML has only a little more than 5 years history.
2. Huge amount of new vocabulary comes out every day, even every hour.
3. When you are waiting for someone translates it, it is already too old.
4. Different translators have different translations on the same word; they don't have time to get agreed on translation on so many new words. They might never agree with each other on it. Attention: Translation becomes creation of new Chinese word more often than not.
5. The beauty of Chinese is that we use existing characters to make-up new vocabularies. This makes education of our children much easier than any other language on earth. Because every Chinese character has meaning inside, which is opposite to a,b,c,..., we can guess the meaning of a new word nice and easy. We can learn the meaning of the new word by context. We use our Chinese dictionaries much less often than native English speakers or others.
6. The very beauty of Chinese turns out to against us when we need to translate huge amount of new vocabularies in a relative short period of time. The guesswork makes Chinese hard to understand and lack of accuracy.
7. The information explosion of XML related fields make this situation even worse.
8. Hit two birds with one stone! You improve your English at the same time!
9. IBM141 test is in English, and requires huge amount of reading and comprehension, this is opposite to Sun’s Java certification. If you want to get the certification, you have no choice but to improve your English as well as your knowledge on XML related technologies.
10. Good luck to everyone!
By the way, I don’t think the moon in foreign country is rounder than the one in China. Just in case, you might have doubt on that.
