就是一个函数，有什么不理解的？？

函数。看不懂书还是看不懂她？

这样写你应该就懂了：
int a,b;  //定义a，b为整型变量
int max(a,b);  //定义a,b中的最大值为整型变量

我也是新人，多看点书，一起学习吧

定义函数，定义后就可以在程序里使用此函数了，max（a，b）。当然你要将函数补全。目测，应该是要比较大小吧？

int max(int a,int b)
{
if(a>b)
printf("%d",a);
else
printf("%d",b);
}

定义后，在程序中就可以使用max()了。

一般带有分号的都是声明语句如：int a,b;  int a[10];   int max(int a,int b);
把一个函数的定义放在main()函数前，就可以不用声名，直接调用。书上有些混乱
机械工业出版社 把 int a,b;  说成是声明
电子邮电出版社 把 int a,b;  说成是定义，
但是我总是相信贵的那本；
