China Linux Strategy Program Manager
The China Linux strategy program manager will work in the Open Source Technology Center of the System Software Division in Software and Solutions Group. This strategy program manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive China Linux strategy that takes into account all aspects of the Linux environment, including key elements around the community, government, standards, and vendors. In addition, the strategy program manager will drive execution of the strategy, either directly or in partnership with other divisions within SSG and the rest of Intel. This strategy program manager will:
· Work with the OTC engineering teams in China to map the evolving Linux community in China and establish a plan for Intel leadership
· Provide local sales support
· Interface with owners of local government programs to drive Linux elements
· Be the primary point of contact and driver of local standards efforts and ensure these efforts are in line with Intel’s overall Linux standards strategy
· Interact with the channel partners or local OEMs to ensure Intel is the platform of choice for Linux deployments
· Work across Intel platform breadth – from enterprise servers to clients
· Support the local SRM teams, as needed, in Linux vendor interaction to communicate and align with Intel’s Linux strategy
The successful candidate will be a senior self starter who is able to function at a high level of performance with minimal supervision. Applicant should have extensive experience in driving the development of organizational strategy and a history of cross-group collaboration and communication across a geographically dispersed organization. The candidate requires an in-depth understanding of the personal computer market segments, background in strategic alliances, and extensive market knowledge of emerging markets with a focus on China.
The candidate should have a proven track record in the following areas:
- Strong knowledge and experience of Linux* and community open source software development methodologies and players
- Experience in market development and developing and executing localized product marketing programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Good entrepreneurial spirit, strategic marketing skills, and a desire to support new products and software capabilities on Intel? processor-based platforms
- Familiarization with the selling/services side of Intel OEMs as well as vertical industry trends would be helpful.
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent required. MBA is preferred, along with increasing strategic responsibilities and more than ten years of worldwide strategic, marketing and/or field experience.
